Our feature documentary tells the unlikely story of the 1969-70 Jacksonville University Dolphins, the most magical March Madness Cinderella team ever!
The sports media dubbed them The Mod Squad, but to the college basketball establishment they were...Jacksonville WHO?
A team that will bring home to their own racially divided city in the Deep South, a new vision of blacks and whites working and winning together.
Lead by seven-foot-two Artis Gilmore - future ABA icon, NBA All Star, and Basketball Hall of Famer - the JU Dolphins play for the smallest school in the NCAA; and fifty basketball seasons later JU still stands as the smallest school ever to reach the Final Four.
Their fairy tale season will take The Mod Squad from straight out of nowhere all the way to a national title game showdown with defending champs UCLA and their legendary coach John Wooden, the Wizard of Westwood.
Along the way this team of destiny will overcome racial barriers, and bring their own playful brand of revolution to college basketball in the Deep South.
